Dolphin Hunt in Denmark
The waters run red with blood after hundreds of dolphins are slaughtered by young men of Faroe Islands in Demark.
[The link contains some really disturbing photographs]

This really pisses me off. Ok, folks, read carefully: first of all Færøer are an autonomous province of Denmark (such as Greenland) ever since 1948, and Denmark has absolutely NOTHING to do with long-finned pilot whale hunting. Second, this whaling is regulated by Faroese laws (though it’s not regulated by the international whaling commission), and anyone saying that this is some kind of an initiation ceremony clearly does not have the slighest idea of what they’re talking about. Anyone can take part to the whaling, no matter how old they are. Whaling is an old Faroese tradition, and only a couple of hundreds of long-finned pilot whales (not an endangered species) are killed every year, nothing with respect to the number of other animals killed anywhere else in Europe (almost nobody complains about killing cows or pigs, guess why). That does not mean that I am in favour of the whaling, of course, but this dolphin-massacre-shame-on-you-Denmark thing has been around for quite a while now, and I am getting fed up with it.
